February 26th-March 1st, 2026

hey, it’s me, Aaron! I’m a science teacher turned climate startup nerd, and I’m stoked to be hosting the second annual Chumstock: a 4-day bash at Friday Harbor Labs for founders, funders, researchers, and operators working on climate.

I’m here to pull together the diverse threads of my network from science, business, policy, and nonprofits who a) care about the climate, b) think it’s fun to start stuff, and c) wish that conferences were actually just about making friends. There aren’t any panels or lectures, just meals and outdoor activities and crafts and dance parties. I hope you’ll show up to make the kind of community that will help you found/fund/build the next generation of climate-positive orgs/campaigns/policies! It’s summer camp (but in winter) for folks who daydream about doing good.

Yes, all of the rumors are true, and Chumstock is back for 2026; it’s as good a time as any to double-down on connecting the good people I know with the social capital they need to found and fund the climate organizations we need to meet this moment.
